Background
CAVA is a fast casual Mediterranean restaurant with a mission to bring heart, health, and humanity to food. They serve up fresh, high quality ingredients like sprouted grain pita. You can build a bowl or pita and fill it with Mediterranean favorites like hummus, tzatziki, spicy harissa, lamb, and falafel.
The brand, originally known as Cava Mezze, began in 2006 as a single restaurant location in Rockville, Maryland. In 2010, Ike Grigoropoulos, Chef Dimitri Moshovitis, Ted Xenohristos, and co-founder Brett Schulman opened CAVA as a fast casual, assembly line style restaurant.
CAVA has expanded rapidly over the past several years. Two major contributing factors to CAVA’s growth are its versatile customer experience and its acquisition of Zoe’s Kitchen. In terms of customer experience, CAVA has been quick to adopt a variety of means to get their food to their customers the way they want it, whether that is via app, drive-thru, or dine-in. In 2018, CAVA acquired Zoe’s Kitchen and began converting those locations to CAVA restaurants.
Murfreesboro used to have a Zoe’s Kitchen, but it closed in 2020. Currently, Tennessee is home to seven CAVA locations, and we can’t wait until they officially add Murfreesboro to the list.
Commercial Developments
Clari Park will be constructed on the northeast side of Medical Center Parkway near I-24 and across from the Avenue, a local shopping center. CAVA will be located in the upcoming Clari Park mixed-use development alongside neighbors like Carhartt, LoveSac, and MyEyeDr.

CAVA’s menu offers plenty of spreads to top your bowl or spice up your pita. One of their signature spreads is called Crazy Feta – feta whipped with jalapeno, onion, and olive oil. You can choose from one of their selections or build your meal with the toppings you want. Their new Market Spice bowl includes spicy falafel, fiery broccoli, hummus, tzatziki, pickled onions, romaine, rice, skhug, garlic dressing, and more.
