The Interagency Task Force on Illegal Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) Trade held its inaugural meeting this week on Monday, March 14th.
It was announced then that, since January 1st—that is, when the first rule under the AIM Act went into effect—illegal HFC shipments have been prevented from coming to U.S.
Such shipments have been equivalent to over half a million metric tons of CO2 emissions, which equates to the emissions from nearly 100,000 homes’ electricity.
Additionally, other AIM Act compliance issues were discussed at the inaugural meeting.
The point is, AIM Act compliance is in effect.
